Working Wanderers Participant Recognised at Charity Dinner
Friday 25th October saw Bolton Wanderers in the Community recognise the personal growth and development of Thomas through their participation in BWitC’s Working Wanderers programme. Thomas was joined by family and Stephen Thomas, BWitC Skills and Pathways Manager, at the Charity Dinner where he was presented with his award by Bolton Wanderers Women’s Football Club Manager Myles Smith.
Following a visit to Connections, Thomas joined the Working Wanderers programme to build his employability skills. Despite being nervous, Thomas soon settled into the Working Wanderers programme not only developing his employability skills but also his confidence. Upon completion Thomas now volunteers for Bolton Wanderers in the Community at the Working Wanderers sessions.
Our Working Wanderers project aims to help 16-25 year olds into education, employment or training. The programme supports young people to improve their confidence, teamwork, leadership and communication skills while providing them with employability support.
Participants receive support around CV writing, job searches, job applications and interview preparation as well as taking part in work experience opportunities with BWitC, Bolton Wanderers Football Club and other local employers. We also provide an aftercare service which ensures that participants continue to receive tailored support once they have completed a course.
