What’s on in the Wellbeing Hub | BWFC vs Burton Albion

Bolton Wanderers in the Community are this week thrilled to welcome football back to the Toughsheet Community Stadium and the BWFC community back to the Wellbeing Hub, supported by Vital Energi.

This Saturday see’s the whites take on Burton Albion in what is the club’s dedicated Black History Month Matchday! The following is what is available to all this Saturday:

Black History Month Photography Exhibition in partnership with BSCA: In partnership with Bolton Solidarity Community Association, the Charity is showcasing the work of young people from Bolton who have a connection to migration either as a migrant of refugee. Working with esteemed photographer Mohamed Osman, all images were captured by the children themselves, aiming to display their own sense of belonging to Bolton.

Black History Month Schools Artwork Showcase: Prior to a celebration event Bolton Wanderers in the Community Staff visited local schools hosting art workshops as part of their transition support workshops. Workshops were split into two sections celebration Black history within football followed by an art workshop. During the second half of the workshop students from each school created oil pastel portraits of a significant figure or role model from Black History in the style of the artist jean-Michel Basquiat. These were then displayed during our celebration event in an art gallery style for pupils to share and celebrate one another’s pieces of work.

Driving Simulator, in partnership with Leasing Options: Channel your inner F1 champion with Leasing Options Driving Simulator this week in the Wellbeing Hub! The racing sim game is an immersive challenge available in the Hub this match day free of charge. Join us to see if you can beat the current record time held by none other than Ricardo Santos!

Alongside all this the BWitC Staff will be on hand to provide the usual information about the Charity’s work, free refreshments and of course a friendly face!
