Wanderers Join the Walk!
Last Thursday, BWFC players Alex Baptiste, Adam Senior and George Thomason joined the Bolton Unity Project on one of their ‘Community Walks’ across the scenic Jumbles Country Park. Following the success of the project’s ‘Winter Walks’ at the start of the year, more are now being planned with along with many other exciting opportunities. The walks are open to any and all who want to join and strive to promote cohesion across all the different Bolton communities. The Bolton Unity Project hosted this walk as part of the EFL Week of Action, a celebration of the invaluable work of the EFL’s 72 Clubs in their local community.
The Bolton Unity Project is an alliance made up of Bolton Wanderers in the Community, Bolton Solidarity Community Association, Bolton Council of Mosques – BCoM, Bolton Interfaith Council, Bolton Christian Community Cohesion and Bolton Hindu Forum. They are funded through the Bolton Fund and BoltonCVS, and work together to advocate with one voice for many voices to create stronger, cohesive and more confident communities in which people feel safe, welcomed and connected. Together we deliver a number of activities, events and projects to unite and celebrate the communities of Bolton.
We will also be hosting The Bolton Unity Project in the Premier Suite of the University of Bolton Stadium on Monday the 18th of April. Join us from 11am up until 3pm for an afternoon of special guests, musical performances and international food all before the Wanderers take on Accrington Stanley.
