Support and Advice for Families in Addiction Sessions Launched out of BWitC Wellbeing Hub

Bolton Wanderers in the Community and Acquiesce Rehab Centre set to offer new opportunities for local residents supporting family and loved ones with addiction. The new Support and Advice for Families in Addiction (SAFIA) sessions will offer a safe and confidential environment for local residents aged 18+ to connect and share experiences with support from professionals in the industry.

Sessions are focussed at local residents with loved one struggling with addiction and who are feeling the weight of stress, anxiety and not knowing where to turn for support. Sessions will aim to provide guidance, reassurance and a space for participants to connect and share their experiences in a confidential environment.

Unlike other sessions Acquiesce Rehab Centre will provide expert advice from their professionals to help those in attendance to navigate the emotional journey of caring for a loved one. These sessions aren’t about fixing everything overnight, they’re about finding the right support to ease the day-to-day stresses.

Hayley Ranicar, BWitC Health and Communities Manager, “At Bolton Wanderers in the Community our work aims to provide local residents of Bolton opportunities to improve their lives. Though our partnership with Acquiesce Rehab Centre we are able to provide a safe space for families supporting loved ones in addiction to get professional support and advice whilst also forming valuable peer support networks. We hope these sessions provide not only reassurance but also help people across Bolton supporting loved ones to no longer feel isolated in their stresses and struggles.”

Following the success of their pilot session on Tuesday 4th February sessions will run out of the BWitC Wellbeing Hub, supported by Vital Energi, on the first Thursday of each month with the next session being held on Thursday 6th March, 18:30-20:00. Spaces are first come first serve.
