RENEW your Bike this Sunday at the BWFC Sportive!

Renew is a unique project which aims to create value from waste to benefit Greater Manchester. A joint initiative between R4GM & SUEZ UK, items are donated at recycling centres across Greater Manchester, before being repaired and renewed at the Renew Hub, ready to be resold to a new home.

Renew will be bringing the ‘RenewHub’ along to the Bolton Wanderers Sportive on Sunday and will be positioned where the cycling routes start and finish.

There will be a wide range of preloved kids and adult bikes that have been carefully cleaned, repaired, and tested ready to be sold at great prices.

The Community Bike Kitchen will also be supporting the event along with the RenewHub.

The charity is based at the RenewHub and their aim is to clean, service, repair and make as many of the donated bikes safe to use so that they can be resold at affordable prices. Aiming to generate long term sustainability, they even donate bikes to a variety of partners and people.

They also offer ‘pop up workshops’ where the public can bring along their bikes for a free safety check and even undertake basic repairs using salvaged bike parts from donated bikes, with no charge to the customer!

The Community Bike Kitchen is a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to teach and support people in becoming self-sufficient in bike riding and bike maintenance.

Not only this, but some of the SUEZ UK team, have entered the sportive to not only support BWitC to continue making an impact in our community, but to raise vital funds for Macmillan.

Each year money raised through sales made from Renew is donated to Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity and Recycle for Greater Manchester Community Fund. The money raised from the sale of preloved items will also see a donation to BWitC.

So please come along, show your support and enjoy the ride from 8am-12pm!
