Local lad Oakley raises £1000!

Oakley is a student at Red Lane School, Breightmet, who has become quite the fundraiser for Bolton Wanderers in the Community! Unfortunately Oakley’s Mum was taken ill, but this is where his school saw an opportunity to offer his family the option of a BWitC mentor as a support to him.

Oakley said ‘Liz was brilliant! I went on trips to Smithills Farm and was really, lucky to have a tour of the Bolton Stadium, where I am a huge fan.’

When we asked Oakley if he would recommend having a mentor to his friends if they ever needed one, he said ‘Yes, it was good fun and they helped me to talk about how I was feeling.’

Oakley is taking part in our stadium abseil on Saturday 15th April and has already raised a staggering £1000 for the charity where his teammates, at Moss Bank football club have been really supportive.

We still have a few places left!

£100 is the suggested sponsorship with all proceeds going towards our new Wellbeing Hub here at the University of Bolton Stadium.
