Jack Iredale Named PFA Community Champion 2023/24
Jack Iredale has been awarded the PFA Community Champion Award by Bolton Wanderers in the Community, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to the local community over the course of the current season.
The 27-year-old joined the Wanderers back in 2022, but it is his willingness to get stuck in and ability to naturally engage with all members of the community that has earned him this reward in support of the official charity.
Speaking on the award, Iredale said: “I’m really happy, it’s a really important award so I’m glad to have that kind of recognition.
“The work that the community team do, especially at Bolton, they do such a good job in connecting the club to the fans, to the players, with everyone pushing in the same direction.
“I think it makes a massive impact. Any chance you get to make more of that personal connection, seeing us (the players) in the fans local community makes a massive difference.”
Jack has been involved in many such community events and campaigns over the year such as tackling loneliness at BWitC’s over 55s Extra Time Hub, engaging with young fans at Junior Whites parties and, alongside other senior players, dropping in at the Royal Bolton Hospital to hand out gifts, signed pictures and chat to staff and patients and their families on the children’s ward and the paediatric A and E department.
Iredale was also the recipient of the Bolton Wanderers Community Champion award at the 2023/24 End of Season Awards. Jack joined a long line of Community Champions, both bolstering the club’s and the charity’s vision of a connected Bolton without disadvantage.
