Huge Success for BWitC Charity Dinner

Friday 25th October 2024 saw 210 attendees from local businesses and charity partners attend the Bolton Wanderers in the Community Charity Dinner 2024. Shining a light on how our charity changes the lives of local residents, the charity dinner emphasised the need for continued support and funding from local businesses and organisations. Thanks to the generous support of our attendees, including Mayor of Bolton Andrew Morgan, BWFC Chairman Sharon Brittan and Bolton Wanderers Womens FC Manager Myles Smith, who helped raise vital funds to help support the work we do across our town.

Guests were welcomed to the 1877 Suite here at the Toughsheet Community Stadium with a drinks reception and photo opportunity in front of our media wall before sitting down to enjoy an evening of fundraising, fun and networking. Between courses awards were presented to recognise the achievements and successes of some of our charity’s participant before a special Q&A session with our very own Super John McGinlay and Derek Clark, Matchday Commentator for Wanderers TV.

Our 2024 Charity Dinner was also an opportunity to thank our participants, supporters and funders for their commitment to our charity. Evenings like this are vital in helping our charity raise awareness of the services we provide whilst ensuring we can continue making a difference in our community and town. If you would like to find out more about the participants we celebrated on the evening keep your eyes on our BWitC socials across the next few weeks.

Ben Lawton, Deputy CEO of Bolton Wanderers in the Community spoke about the benefits of events like these “Opportunities to raise funds for and awareness of Bolton Wanderers in the Community’s ongoing mission to use the power of Bolton Wanderers Football Club to inspire, support and deliver positive change is vital to the continuation of our work across Bolton. Throughout the evening, we heard about some of our inspiring participants and their journeys with Bolton Wanderers in the Community, as testimony to the work our charity is doing in this town.  We would also like to say a thank you to Maham, Thomas and Amy who joined us on the evening to collect their recognition awards.”

A celebration of the participants and staff at Bolton Wanderers in the Community and the achievements we have made over the years our event was a platform to forge new partnerships, strengthen existing relationships, and drive collective action toward a connected Bolton without disadvantage.

A special thanks must go to our Headline Sponsor for the evening ADJ Fire and Security Ltd. for supporting our event, the staff here at BWITC and all our charity’s supporters.
