Bolton Wanderers Hills & Thrills Sportive
Yesterday, 105 riders took part in first UK Sportives event held at the Toughsheet Community Stadium in aid of BWitC!
UK Sportives is a non-profit organisation dedicated to making a positive impact in the community through the power of cycling and Sportives. This Sportive saw riders take on with three thrilling routes, each tailored to cater to different skill levels and distances. This took the form of a 30, 60 or 100 mile route, starting and finishing at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
Upon crossing the finish line riders won a bespoke medal for their efforts and were then able to head over to the BWitC Wellbeing Hub for some well earned refreshments courtesy of Dawsons Bakery.
SUEZ UK and the Renew Hub were also in attendance with a pop up shop selling preloved bikes, which The Manchester Bike Kitchen had repaired, serviced and tested prior to selling. Money raised from sales were also kindly donated to BWitC.
Renew is a unique project which aims to create value from waste to benefit Greater Manchester. A joint initiative between R4GM & SUEZ UK, items are donated at recycling centres across Greater Manchester, before being repaired and renewed at the Renew Hub, ready to be resold to a new home.
Bolton Wanderers in the Community would also like to thank Amazon for their volunteers and Bolton FM for supplying the music in their mobile radio van!
