BWitC welcome HGV Driver Group as latest Community Partner
Bolton Wanderers in the Community are delighted to announce that HGV Driver Group have teamed up with the Charity to become the latest community partner.
The Charity relies on the generous support of local businesses such as HGV Driver Group to continue delivering its key work across Bolton. Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC) works with over 13,000 members of the Bolton community annually, using the power of Bolton Wanderers Football Club to inspire, support and deliver positive change and delivers work across themes including health and wellbeing, employability, social inclusion, schools and mentoring. Community Partners support the Charity in working towards its vision of ‘A connected Bolton without disadvantage’.
Richard Slater, Head of Community at BWitC said: “We are delighted to have HGV Driver Group join the Charity as a Community Partner. On meeting the team, it quickly became clear how passionate they are about supporting the Bolton community and we are thrilled that they have recognised the positive impact that Bolton Wanderers in the Community has on individuals across Bolton.
“Having the support of HGV Driver Group is crucial in enabling us to continue our work across Bolton as we strive to meet the growing demands on our services. We look forward to withing with the team at HGV Driver Group across the season”.
Speaking on becoming a Community Partner, Nicola Girling, Head of Marketing and Partnerships at HGV Driver Group said: “As lifelong Bolton Wanderers fans we had always been aware of its charitable arm- but admittedly we didn’t really know much about it. Our aim had always been to attend matches and follow our team, with not much thought as to Bolton Wanderers in the Community.
We joined the Wanderers Business Club a while ago and as part of that we started to receive regular in person updates about BWitC, its aims and its achievements. These brief updates were insightful and inspired us. We are proud of our football club, but we are also immensely proud of the impact that BWITC has through its various groups, courses and events.
“BWitC work hard identifying key factors that may place people in need or at risk. They then put in place educational and development plans to prevent this from happening. They are investing into the future of the Bolton family.
“Partnering with BWitC means we can support them in delivering services to the people of Bolton. Our people.
“As a company we provide accounting and payroll services to the Transport and Logistics industry. Most of our clients being HGV Drivers, Haulage Companies and Agencies. Certain industries carry specific risks. For HGV Drivers it is isolation, mental health risks and difficulty with health and nutrition. These are all things that BWITC currently tackle within their programmes. When your values align so strongly with another organisation it is time to partner up. So here we are.”
