Chairman Sharon Brittan opens Wellbeing Hub

Prior to the Wanderers Community Day home fixture against Peterborough last Saturday, BWitC had the privilege of welcoming club Chairman Sharon Brittan in cutting the ribbon to the new Wellbeing Hub.

The Wellbeing Hub, situated next to the Club’s Ticket Office, provides a space for BWitC to deliver its health and wellbeing offer for the benefit of the Bolton community during the week and on matchdays. This was made possible through funds raised by last season’s Chairmans Walk, which saw Chairman, Sharon Brittan and 30 other fundraisers undertake a 13-mile sponsored walk across Bolton.

Also during the day, the Chairman was delighted to also unveil the new state-of-the-art Changing Places facility here at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

A Changing Places toilet provides sanitary accommodation for people with multiple and complex disabilities who cannot use a standard accessible toilet. With additional space and equipment, the facility is designed for people who need assistance to be changed.

Located in the south-east corner of the stadium, opposite the Club Shop, the facility encompasses a changing bench and hoist, shower facility and toilet.

Last to be unveiled was the Stadium’s new Sensory Room. With equipment donated from Bolton Together, the room is designed to be a therapeutic facility primarily for those with special needs or sensory processing problems, however the facility is open to all who may need the space on matchday.

If you wish to visit the Wellbeing Hub, the facility will be opening its doors to the community providing information, support and activities in areas including mental health, cancer awareness, community cohesion, disability, women and girls alongside providing fan engagement opportunities across various match days throughout the season.
