BWitC’s Feel Good Field Trip to London

Monday 13^th January, Bolton Wanderers in the Community staff travelled to the House of Commons to mark the end of the Avanti West Coast Feel Good Field Trips.

Launched in April 2022 by Avanti West Coast the Feel Good Field Trip programme aimed to connect young people, aged 4-18, from all backgrounds to learning opportunities and experiences that may previously have been inaccessible to them.

Over its course the programme saw a total of 15 trips for 5,250 pupils and 50,000 miles travelled to 60 destinations with the Toughsheet Community Stadium being the first venue to be visited on the scheme. Led by our Education Team students engaged in a range of activities from stadium tours to team building exercises. Events aimed to use skills used on the pitch to help students learn skills for everyday life.

To celebrate the success of the programme staff from across the charity hopped on board the Avanti West Coast line for a special event at the House of Commons. Avanti brought together colleagues, stakeholders, pupils, teachers, and Community Rail Partnerships local to its route to commemorate the amazing work done.
