Bolton Comes together for Community 10K

Bolton Wanderers in the Community would like to thank everyone who joined us on Sunday 28th April. Whether a participant or spectator your involvement helped to make our first Community 10K a huge success.

1,150 participants including Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, and Bolton Council Chief Executive, Sue Johnson, joined us on the starting line here at the Toughsheet Community Stadium where our very own John McGinlay set off the event.

We would like to say thank you to Burnden Road Runners for supporting us in organising the race and providing pacers as well as all our volunteers, St Johns Ambulance and Exclusec for their support on the day.

Female

Under 20 – Bella Mercer 43:25

SNR – Natalie Vose 43:36 (Wigan &District H & AC)

V40 – Hanah Lambert 46:41 (Holcombe Harriers)

Although we did have race winners this was a multi ability event in which participants could run, jog or walk to the finish line. A special recognition is due for our Fit Fans participants who walked the course in 2hrs 55 minutes and raised £1,280 as part of team BWitC on behalf of Bolton Wanderers in the Community.
