An Evening at the Northwest Football Awards 2024

On Monday 25th November staff from Bolton Wanderers in the Community along with Bolton Wanderers Football Club attended the Northwest Football Awards at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

The Northwest Football Awards (NWFA), now in its 17th year, looks to honour, celebrate and recognise excellence both on and off the field. Football continues to play an important role in contributing to both the identity and the economy of our region and this year’s awards promised to be a truly memorable evening.

Having won Community Club of the Season 2023 the charity were this year recognised with 2 award nominations. The competition for Community Club of the Season – All other Leagues (in association with the PFA) and Community Initiative of the Season – All other Leagues (in association with the PFA) for our Sutton Community Hub was high and unfortunately BWitC walked away empty handed this time around.

Although unfortunately it wasn’t the Charity’s year this year the recognition through 2 nominations is a testament to the hard work our team put into their projects and services. Ben Lawton, Deputy CEO of Bolton Wanderers in the Community reflects on the nominations, “We would like to say congratulations to the winners of this year’s Northwest Football Awards 2024. Although we didn’t walk away with a win this evening this year’s 2 nominations are a recognition for the work our charity conducts across our town. We are thankful to all our team that make this work possible ensuring the best experience for all participants across Bolton.”
