Amy Celebrated at Charity Dinner 2024

Amy has been a huge supporter of Bolton Wanderers for years and so when her GP referred her to Bolton Wanderers in the Community in 2023 the connection just made sense. Having completed one of our 12-week Health and Wellbeing programmes Amy made positive changes to her mental and physical wellbeing as well as meeting new people and forming lifelong friendships.

Upon the end of the initial 12-week programme Amy has continued to participate and support BWitC. A regular attendee of our Active Wanderers and BL One Bowling provisions Amy has continued to use BWitC’s services to better themselves. A huge achievement for Amy was the completion of the 2024 Charity Abseil alongside BWFC’s mascot Lofty.

When asked about her experience with the charity Amy says “Bolton Wanderers gave me a whole new life”. Through the provisions provided by BWitC Amy has found safe spaces to increase her independence, gain confidence and make friends for life.

Unfortunately, Amy was unable to attend the Charity Dinner on Friday 25th October so BWitC team members Hayley and Joe joined Mayor of Bolton Andy Morgan and Mayoress Karen Holdsworth to surprise Amy at hospital with her Special Recognition award. This moment allowed us to still recognise a special participant and ensure she was celebrated for everything she has achieved during her time with BWitC.
