Aaron Collins Helps Fans Adopt Healthy Habits

Last night our Fit Trotters cohort had the pleasure of welcoming Wanderers forward Aaron Collins.

The Welshman took the chance to sit down with the group in their usual meeting place to discuss his dietary habits, exercise schedule and life as a new Bolton Wanderers player.

Fit Fans is a 12-week weight loss programme originally curated by the EFL Trust. The Bolton Wanderers arm of the project, more locally known as Fit Trotters, are taught about various day to day adjustments they can make to help them lead a healthier lifestyle such as cutting down on fatty/sugary foods, monitoring their alcohol intake and increasing their step count. The following half of each session then consists of a light circuit session in the stadium concourse.

Week 5 started with the group asking Aaron about his favourite healthy meals, cheat meals and his eating habits during the season and how they change during the off season.

Participants then had the opportunity to discuss physical exercise with Aaron, who was able to give insight into what techniques he puts into practice to stay fit when not at training.

The Q&A was rounded off with the group discussing mental health. Aaron touched on how maintaining your mental health is just as important, and takes just as much effort, as maintaining your physical health.

The participants were able to gain an exclusive insight into the life of a sporting professional and receive expert advice only accessible to a Fit Trotter! For more information, please contact Jack Barnes at jbarnes@bwitc.org.uk
